Description

VetriScience Laboratories’ Cell Advance 440 is an advanced antioxidant formula for cats and dogs which provides 23 powerful antioxidants/free radical scavengers at levels designed to work with any program on which the animal might currently be. Cell Advance includes free radical scavengers vitamins A, C, E and B6 to support the immune system and protect against free radical damage. Vitamin B6 is provided in two forms: one in an active form for amino acid metabolism and one in a form appropriate for animals with reduced B6 levels. Coenzyme Q10 is a necessary co-factor for ATP production and immune system support. The inclusion of enteric coated amino acids l-cysteine, l-lysine, methionine and l-glutathione support antibody production, cellular respiration and antioxidant activity. They are also precursors to amino acids and enzymes that the body uses to get rid of peroxides. Minerals like magnesium, manganese, copper and zinc support normal detoxification processes and enzyme production and utilization, while the inclusion of the enzyme catalase supports cellular respiration and deactivates hydrogen peroxide. SOD, or Super Oxide Dismutase, is another enzyme that rids the body of free radicals. The minerals in the formula assist in utilization of SOD. Cell Advance also includes bioflavonoids like quercetin, rutin and hesperidin to support vascular and connective tissue health, maintain healthy collagen levels and protect cell structures from free radical damage.

  • Beta carotene (16)
β-Carotene is an organic, strongly colored red-orange pigment abundant in plants and fruits. It is a member of the carotenes, which are terpenoids, synthesized biochemically from eight isoprene units and thus having 40 carbons. Among the carotenes, β-carotene is distinguished by having beta-rings at both ends of the molecule.
  • Catalase (1)
Catalase is a common enzyme found in nearly all living organisms exposed to oxygen. It catalyzes the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide to water and oxygen. It is a very important enzyme in protecting the cell from oxidative damage by reactive oxygen species.
  • Cellulose (2)
Cellulose is an organic compound with the formula n, a polysaccharide consisting of a linear chain of several hundred to many thousands of β linked D-glucose units. Cellulose is an important structural component of the primary cell wall of green plants, many forms of algae and the oomycetes.
  • Coenzyme Q10 (1)
Coenzyme Q, also known as ubiquinone, is a coenzyme family that is ubiquitous in animals and most bacteria. In humans, the most common form is Coenzyme Q10 or ubiquinone-10. CoQ10 is not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of any medical condition; however, it is sold as a dietary supplement.
  • Copper (1)
Copper is a chemical element with the symbol Cu and atomic number 29. It is a soft, malleable, and ductile metal with very high thermal and electrical conductivity. A freshly exposed surface of pure copper has a pinkish-orange color. Copper is used as a conductor of heat and electricity, as a building material, and as a constituent of various metal alloys, such as sterling silver used in jewelry, cupronickel used to make marine hardware and coins, and constantan used in strain gauges and thermocouples for temperature measurement.
  • D-Alpha Tocopheryl Succinate (1)
  • Hesperidin (3)
Hesperidin is a flavan-on glycoside found in citrus fruits. Its aglycone form is called hesperetin. Its name is derived from the word "hesperidium", for fruit produced by citrus trees. Hesperidin was first isolated in 1828 by French chemist Lebreton from the white inner layer of citrus peels.
  • L-Cysteine (1)
Cysteine is a semiessential proteinogenic amino acid with the formula HO2CCHCH2SH. The thiol side chain in cysteine often participates in enzymatic reactions, as a nucleophile. The thiol is susceptible to oxidation to give the disulfide derivative cystine, which serves an important structural role in many proteins.
  • L-Glutathione (1)
  • Magnesium (2)
Magnesium is a chemical element with the symbol Mg and atomic number 12. It is a shiny gray solid which bears a close physical resemblance to the other five elements in the second column of the periodic table: all group 2 elements have the same electron configuration in the outer electron shell and a similar crystal structure.
  • Magnesium Oxide (13)
Magnesium oxide, or magnesia, is a white hygroscopic solid mineral that occurs naturally as periclase and is a source of magnesium. It has an empirical formula of MgO and consists of a lattice of Mg2+ ions and O2− ions held together by ionic bonding.
  • Manganese (4)
Manganese is a chemical element with the symbol Mn and atomic number 25. It is not found as a free element in nature; it is often found in minerals in combination with iron. Manganese is a transition metal with a multifaceted array of industrial alloy uses, particularly in stainless steels.
  • Molybdenum (1)
Molybdenum is a chemical element with the symbol Mo and atomic number 42. The name is from Neo-Latin molybdaenum, from Ancient Greek Μόλυβδος molybdos, meaning lead, since its ores were confused with lead ores. Molybdenum minerals have been known throughout history, but the element was discovered in 1778 by Carl Wilhelm Scheele.

Palmitic acid, or hexadecanoic acid in IUPAC nomenclature, is the most common saturated fatty acid found in animals, plants and microorganisms. Its chemical formula is CH314COOH, and its C:D is 16:0. As its name indicates, it is a major component of the oil from the fruit of oil palms.
  • Pyridoxal (1)
Pyridoxal is one form of vitamin B6. Some medically relevant bacteria, such as those in the genera Granulicatella and Abiotrophia, require pyridoxal for growth. This nutritional requirement can lead to the culture phenomenon of satellite growth. In in vitro culture, these pyridoxal-dependent bacteria may only grow in areas surrounding colonies of bacteria from other genera that are capable of producing pyridoxal.
